Swiss-based offshore drilling giant Transocean has won a new contract and an extension for two of its drilling rigs. In Brazil, the 2011-built drillship Deepwater Mykonos was awarded a contract with giant BP. The rig is currently working for Petrobras. The firm part of the Petrobras deal is supposed to end this month, but it can be extended until April if all options are exercised. The estimated 302-day BP campaign is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and contribute approximately $120m in backlog, excluding additional services and compensation for mobilisation and demobilisation. In Norway, three one-well options have been exercised for the 2016-built Transocean Enabler semisub. The 105 days of work will be in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract with Equinor.
