AUTORIDAD DEL CANAL DE PANAMÁ EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENCY FOR OPERATIONS 3654-A (OPXI) V. 4-2-2015 ADVISORIES ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.pancanal.com FOR ETAS OR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICES, REFER TO NOTICE N-3-2015 ADVISORY TO SHIPPING No. A-33-2015 October 7, 2015 TO : All Shipping Agents, Owners, and Operators SUBJECT: Additional Reduction in the Number of Available Booking Slots to Reduce Transit Waiting Time As mentioned in Advisory to Shipping A-31-2015, the Panama Canal continues experiencing an increase in vessel backlog, and despite measures taken, the number of vessels awaiting transit has not been reduced to acceptable levels. In response to a growing concern by our customers regarding the extended waiting time being experienced, Condition 1.a will be implemented effective October 12, 2015. Applications for reserved transits under the above-mentioned condition will be received beginning at 0900 hours, October 9, 2015. The booking slot available through the Auction Process, as well as the slots available for vessels less than 300 feet in length, will continue to be offered. The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit service will remain at one (1) for each direction, as published in Advisory to Shipping A-31-2015.
