MSC has announced new freight rates for shipments from South Asia to Europe, with the revised tariffs taking effect on 16 August 2026 and remaining valid until further notice, but no later than 31 August 2026. The updated Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates apply to cargo moving from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan to Antwerp and Valencia. For shipments from Colombo and Chattogram, the carrier has set rates of US$6,050 per 20-foot container to both Antwerp and Valencia. Forty-foot containers are priced at US$6,350 from Colombo and US$6,850 from Chattogram. MSC has also revised rates from Indian and Pakistani ports. From Nhava Sheva and Port Qasim, rates are set at US$6,150 per 20-foot container to Antwerp and US$6,250 to Valencia. From Ennore, the rates are US$6,350 to Antwerp and US$6,450 to Valencia, while shipments from Kolkata are priced at US$6,450 to Antwerp and US$6,550 to Valencia. Forty-foot dry and high-cube containers are charged at the same level as 20-foot equipment on these routes. The carrier said the announced rates include the base ocean freight and selected origin surcharges, while additional charges—including the Bunker Recovery Charge (BRC), Emissions Trading System (ETS), Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS), FuelEU surcharge, origin and destination terminal handling charges, carrier security fees and other applicable local charges—will continue to apply.
