Dry Bulk Hormuz transits now at 100% pre-war levels! in International Shipping News 29/06/2026 AXS Marine reported that its AIS-derived data indicates 62 verified transits through the Strait on 24 June, the highest single-day count since the conflict began. This represents 53% of the traffic recorded on the same day last year. The five-day average from 20–24 June now stands at 38.2 daily crossings, compared with 4.5 per day in early June, before the signing of the US-Iran MoU. Dry Bulk traffic was the strongest performer, reaching 100% of its 2025 level on 24 June with 22 crossings observed. Tanker activity is also recovering: the 20–24 June average reached 35% of 2025 levels, while 24 June alone reached 51%. We also observed a notable return of LNG traffic. Of the 14 confirmed LNG crossings recorded since 1 March, 10 took place after 18 June, including four LNG carrier transits on 22 June alone. In addition, six tankers re-established AIS contact inside the Persian Gulf on 24 June after extended blackout periods ranging from three weeks to two months.
