Konecranes has appointed Mara Zavagno as Executive Vice President, People & Culture, effective 1 October 2026. She will join the Konecranes Leadership Team and report directly to President and CEO Marko Tulokas. Zavagno succeeds Anneli Karkovirta, who is retiring after 12 years with the company. Karkovirta will step down from the Leadership Team on 1 August 2026, as previously announced. Currently serving as Vice President, People & Culture for Konecranes’ Industrial Equipment Business Area and Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer, Zavagno joined the company in 2017 following the acquisition of Terex MHPS. Before joining Konecranes, she held senior human resources roles at Terex Corporation and Sanitec Group. “I am very pleased that we found such an excellent successor for our People & Culture leadership from within the company,” said Marko Tulokas, President and CEO of Konecranes. He added that Zavagno’s international experience across the company’s business areas and her work on diversity and inclusion will support Konecranes’ strategic ambitions. Commenting on her appointment, Zavagno said she looks forward to helping the company continue building an inclusive culture while supporting innovation and long-term growth. From 1 October 2026, the Konecranes Leadership Team will comprise nine members, including the presidents of the company’s Industrial Service, Port Solutions, and Industrial Equipment business areas.
