File Image / Pixabay Maritime technology forum  Zero Emission Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) has launched the Global Liquid Hydrogen Alliance , a new international platform focused on advancing pure green and liquid hydrogen for maritime shipping. The alliance aims to support the deployment of liquid hydrogen through policy coordination, technical evidence, commercial frameworks and infrastructure development, ZESTAs said in an email statement on Monday . ZESTAs said the initiative comes as the shipping industry moves closer towards implementation of the IMO ’s net-zero framework and carbon pricing measures. "Zero-emission shipping is already underway, Madadh MacLaine , Alliance Co-founder and Secretary General of ZESTAs, said. “The investment is moving, the regulation is coming, and the early movers are setting the terms.” The alliance will focus exclusively on pure hydrogen rather than derivative fuels such as ammonia or methanol. Founding members include Kawasaki , EDF , Samskip , PowerCell Group and Dhamma Sea .
