ADVISORIES ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.pancanal.com FOR ETAS OR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICES, REFER TO NOTICE N-3-2023 Panama Canal Authority Vice Presidency for Operations Advisory To Shipping No. A-16-2025 May 28, 2025 TO: All Shipping Agents, Owners, and Operators SUBJECT: Modifications to the Transit Reservation (Booking) System The Panama Canal (ACP), in its ongoing commitment to provide an efficient and reliable service to its customers, has revised some rules within the Transit Reservation (Booking) System. All Neopanamax vessels classified with an HML of "C" that request a booking slot during the secondperiod tiebreaker competition will now be included in the conditioned slot tiebreaker competition. This process ensures the efficient use of booking slots in compliance with established regulations, allowing eligible vessels to participate under defined conditions. By adhering to these criteria, the allocation of booking slots remains transparent and consistent for all involved. To maintain transparency and consistency in slot allocation, any vessel with an awarded conditioned slot will forfeit its booking if its HML code is changed and a forfeiture fee will be assessed. Additionally, vessels with an awarded booking slot that declare a transit condition to avoid being assigned an HML of “C” will forfeit its booking slot. ACP may request supporting documentation from the customer to validate any changes in the transit condition that takes to a modification in the HML previously assigned. For booking dates beginning June 14, 2025, vessels in all three size categories (Neopanamax, Super and Regular) will be required to be ready for transit by or before their required arrival time. Exceptions will be approved by ACP on a case-by-case basis upon request, based on the booked vessels and the vessel mix in the schedule. Customers requesting approval for a later ready time for transit must submit their request via email to Planner@pancanal.com no later than 48 hours prior to the required arrival time. Please address any questions or concerns regarding the above information to: operationservices@pancanal.com.
