File Image / Pixabay Oman 's Maritime Security Centre (MSC) has cautioned vessels operating near the Strait of Hormuz after a floating object suspected to be a mine was sighted in Omani territorial waters. The object was reported west of the Inshore Traffic Zone in the Strait of Hormuz, according to an alert issued by the MSC on Saturday . The centre urged seafarers, fishermen and vessel operators to exercise "the utmost caution" when navigating in the area. Maritime users were advised to keep a safe distance from any suspicious objects and report them immediately to the relevant authorities. Mine-related risks remain a concern in the Strait of Hormuz despite efforts to restore normal shipping traffic.
