Maersk will introduce a temporary Emergency Inland Fuel/Energy Surcharge for inland shipments across the Nordic region, citing higher fuel costs linked to the evolving situation in the Middle East. The surcharge applies to store door (SD) shipments in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. It will remain in effect until further notice. The new surcharge applies to shipments with a planned cargo delivery (PCD) date of 29 July 2026 onwards. The rates are: Denmark: 9% Sweden: 5% Norway: 0% Finland: 4% Lithuania: 9% Latvia: 9% Estonia: 15% Maersk said electric truck and rail transport solutions are not currently affected. The carrier added that it will review the surcharge weekly and adjust the rates if market conditions change.
