Maersk has announced the launch of its new West Coast Shuttle, expanding its regional network across Mexico, Panama and Ecuador. The service will replace the existing single-vessel shuttle between Balboa and Posorja with a three-vessel operation. According to the carrier, the expanded network will provide broader port coverage, improved connectivity and greater flexibility across the Americas. The first sailing will be operated by AS PALINA on voyage 639N, departing from Posorja on 20 September 2026. The West Coast Shuttle will introduce direct connections from the Mexican ports of Lázaro Cárdenas and Manzanillo to Posorja in Ecuador. These links are expected to provide faster transit options for cargo arriving from Asia. Maersk will also transfer its Guayaquil Feeder coverage to the expanded shuttle. The change will maintain access to the Ecuadorian market through the new network.
