GT Lines has launched the Khorfakkan Tanzania Express (KTX) , a new shipping service linking Khorfakkan, UAE, with Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, strengthening trade connections between East Africa and the Gulf. The service is scheduled to begin in mid-August and will operate on a 10-day frequency using two dedicated vessels. GT Lines said the service will offer a nine-day transit time between Khorfakkan and Dar es Salaam. The new route is designed to connect East African cargo with markets in the Gulf, Indian Subcontinent and Far East through Gulftainer’s maritime and logistics network. Cargo transported on the KTX service will have onward connectivity through the Khorfakkan Commercial Terminal, Sharjah Commercial Terminal, Momentum Logistics, Gulf Connect feeder services across the GCC, the Iraq Commercial Terminal at Umm Qasr, and GT Lines’ Far East and Indian Subcontinent services. According to GT Lines, the new service aims to improve schedule reliability while expanding logistics options for customers trading between East Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
