Image Credit: Cosco Shipping Marine fuels firm China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) (Chimbusco) took delivery of its methanol bunkering vessel   Zhong Ran LV Neng 85  in Zhoushan on June 5 . The vessel is China ’s first newly built methanol bunkering and transport ship certified for operations across all sea areas nationwide, it said in a statement on its website on Thursday . The addition strengthens Chimbusco’s methanol bunkering network, building on green methanol bunkering licenses already obtained in Shanghai , Ningbo and Shenzhen . The vessel is expected to enhance the company’s ability to support the growing demand for low-carbon marine fuels. Before entering service, the vessel underwent comprehensive inspections, equipment verification and inventory checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Crew members also completed specialized training covering methanol bunkering procedures, navigation safety, reporting requirements and regulatory compliance. Methanol is seen as one of the more practical alternative fuels because it can be handled using relatively familiar infrastructure compared with some other emerging marine fuels.
